CURRICULUM VITAE
Name as it appears on your birth certificate?
This terminal doesn't have Denobulan characters.
Current name? See above.
Nicknames? Phlox
Parents' names? By birth pair, Secka (mother) and
Tuglian (father). My other four parents were Zinef (male),
Ninsen (female), Symmé (female), and Vinku (male).
Siblings? five brothers, six sisters
Number of candles that appeared on your last birthday
cake? Five; Chef made it. Yellow cake with mint frosting,
I believe. Very tasty.
Date that you regularly blow them out? I've only
blown them out once, but that corresponded to April 15.
Pets? Denobulans do not keep "pets," since
we do not have the space for domesticated animals. My animals
on Enterprise are too useful to be considered pets.
Height? 1.72728m
Eye color? Blue-white
Hair color? Dark brown
Piercings? None.
Tattoos? Yes; I have one on my left inner ankle.
It's a tulip in full bloom. Crewman Rostov inked it. He's
quite the artist.
How much do you love your job? It is all I've ever
wanted to do. I adore it.
Birthplace? Denobula
Hometown? Meleth, the north quarter
Current residence? Deck C, Enterprise
College attended, degree? The University of Medicine
in Phel Manar, where I received all of my certificates of
medicine.
What kind of car do you drive? I've never had the
chance to learn to drive a Terran car; I am very good on a
groundhover.
PREFERENCES
Croutons or bacon bits? Neither. I prefer wetter
foods..
Coke or Pepsi? I'm afraid both make me quite ill.
Caffeine is not good for me.
Sprite or 7UP? See above.
Coffee or ice cream? Ice cream. I'm particularly
fond of mint chocolate chip and butterscotch.
Coffee, tea, or decaf? iZain tea (it has no caffeine).
Didn't you read my soda comments?
Milk chocolate or dark? White, actually, as it's
the only "false" chocolate and therefore has no
caffiene.
Buttered, plain, or salted popcorn? Salted.
Red or white wine? Red, though I have very low alcohol
tolerance so I usually decline all offers.
Gold or silver? Silver.
Two or four doors? Four. More exits.
Bridges or tunnels? Bridges; I love the scenery.
Beach, city, or country? Country. It's unusual for
my people to have access so much space. Some Denobulans would
hate it; I seek it out.
Summer or winter? Spring, when the trees are starting
to leaf out.
Storms: Cool or scary? Scary. I was caught out in
one when I was six and haven't gotten over it.
Roller coaster: Scary or exciting? Exciting! I'd
never been on anything like it before Terra. They're amazing.
James Dean or Clark Gable? James Dean.
Marilyn Monroe or Audrey Hepburn? I look forward
to seeing these actresses' oeuvres so that I may compare them.
Beatles or Stones? Both -- Terrans cannot be restrained
while expressing themselves!
Blanket or stuffed animal? Stuffed animal. They
were the closest thing I had to a "pet" when I was
growing up.
One pillow or two? One, but I only use it when hibernating.
Adidas, Nike, or Reebok? I'll have to ask Ensign
Sato if she recognizes these terms.
Mac, PC, or Unix? I suppose I use a PC, but to be
honest, I'm not entirely sure. Perhaps I should check with
Commander Tucker.
WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE...
Salad dressing? Crushed ebd'al flower stems. A real
treat in my youth.
Salad? Maylean. I haven't had it since I left Denobula;
it was very crunchy and best early in the season for peral
fruit, when it was the most sour.
Pizza topping? Broccoli
Foods? Ensign Sato's oden. But my "favorite"
changes frequently.
Sandwich filling? Sliced turkey with ketchup and
mustard; see above disclaimer.
Dessert? Mint anything. It's the most amazing thing
I've ever eaten. Once I had an entire tube of toothpaste.
Type of ice cream? Mint.
Restaurant? Any good restaurant.
Fast food place? I don't care, particularly -- though
"Rosie's" in Philadelphia had good sandwiches.
Drink, non-alcoholic? Water. Mint tea doesn't have
quite the same freshness as toothpaste.
Drink, alcoholic? Plain red wine as long as there's
not too much of it.
Color of socks? I don't wear socks.
Shampoo or conditioner? I use neither; all my hair
needs is an occasional brushing.
Toothpaste? Bubblegum. That's almost better than
mint.
Place to be kissed? Denobulans do not regularly
kiss. Ensign Cutler kissed my cheek once.
Holiday? The children's birthday in my family corresponded
with April 15. Instead of measuring ages individually, we
have one large party together. I never thought that odd; on
Terra, the Chinese have a similar custom of aging together
on the calendar. It's quite simple to understand. Denobulans
greatly value community.
Color? Light green.
Car? The older models looked nicer, I think.
Day of the week? Fridays.
Band/Artist? Any music which tells a story.
Book? from Denobula? I can't write the title. From
Terra? All Creatures Great And Small, James Herriot
Magazine? The IME Journal.
Movie? I've found that ones with European "sensibilities"
are best.
TV show? "Saturday Night Live," "Kids
in the Hall"
TV character? Christopher Walken's "Continental"
character from SNL. I don't know why I find him so funny,
but I do.
Disney character? The only Disney movies I've seen
are "Lilo & Stich" and "Aladdin."
Of those, I liked the scientist from "Lilo & Stich"
the most -- the one with the Russian accent.
Warner Bros. character? I'm eagerly anticipating
the "Bugs Bunny" marathon which will be shown during
"Movie Night" in two weeks. Captain Archer has been
randomly shouting "Yoikes!... and awaaaaaay!" and
Commander Tucker won't tell me why he finds it so funny.
Sesame Street character? I'm not familiar with this
program.
James Bond? Timothy Dalton. Though Roger Moore had
better villains, this man played the character with ample
sense (though Brosnan did that as well, I've been told).
Quote? "There is beauty in all things,"
Vayken
Word or phrase? "First, do no harm."
Flower? Tulips.
Sport to watch? Horse racing.
Zoo exhibit? anything, as long as the animal is
cared for and new to me.
Board game? Chess with Subcommander T'Pol.
Town to chill in? Do you mean "relax in"?
San Francisco or Glasgow.
Perfume/Cologne? Drakkar Noir. I do not wear it
aboard Enterprise, however, as it would irritate my
animals and antagonize my crewmates.
Website? Grudge Match -- now in its second century
-- and a particular SNL transcript page.
Least favorite thing? Not knowing how my good friends
are, or my family, or my animals.
Least favorite subject? Earth Science.
RANDOM PERSONAL QUESTIONS
Been in love before? Yes.
Loved somebody so much it made you cry? Yes.
Dumper or dumpee? Neither; we were married.
What inspires you? Hope that tomorrow will be better
than today -- no, I'm not a pessimist, I just want to leave
the universe a better place than when I arrived.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? If I'm still
in the IME? Working among Terrans. Having developed a cure

Do you get along with your parents? Yes, though
Vinku didn't like me leaving Denobula.

this way: On Denobula, we have never seen the need for swimsuits.
We have also never understood the idea of swimming with the
opposite gender.
Do you make fun of people? No.
Last person you went to dinner with? Ensign Sato
-- her accent is marvelous.
What did you do for your last birthday? Chef made
a small cake with mint frosting. When the crew found I'd never
had a personal birthday, they all gave me a traditional Terran
one. Even T'Pol contributed; she gave me her word she'd care
for my animals in my next hibernating cycle.
Do you carry a donor card? Yes, but what use would
it be here?

Samurai." Why can't anyone else remember the movie names?
What was the last film you saw at home? A Terran
import; it was a documentary on the migration routes of birds.
What was the last book you read? One Flew Over
The Cuckoo's Nest, Ken Kesey. Ensign Sato lent me her
copy when she found out I am a psychiatrist. I will have to
discuss it with the Subcommander.
What was the last CD you listened to? Ensign Mayweather
lent me a collection of traditional African chants -- it's
quite good.

of time?)

Denobula and Terra.
Greatest pet peeve? People not treating my animals
with respect.

of Terran animal images -- the turtles are so cute.
